The Chambers of economy of Republika Srpska and the cantons Una-Sana, Zenica-Doboj, Tuzla and Sarajevo as well as representatives of various BiH companies and the Ministry of education and culture and Pedagogic institute of Republika Srpska have participated in a five-day Study Tour to Slovenia, held from April 7–11, 2025. Conducted within the framework of the “Strengthening Vocational Education and Training” (SVET) component of the GIZ “Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion” (SEDEP) program, the tour was carefully tailored to address the strategic priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s vocational education and economic development sectors.
The SVET component aims to build a modern, responsive VET system capable of cultivating a skilled workforce—an essential driver of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s long-term economic success. In this context, the Study Tour focused on priority areas identified by stakeholders from Chambers of Economy, Ministries of Education, Pedagogical institutes, and leading private sector partners.

Participants visited four distinguished vocational and technical education institutions:

Each school provided valuable insight into their educational models, hands-on training programs, and collaboration with industry. Guided tours and live demonstrations in classrooms and technical workshops allowed participants to engage directly with educators and students—offering a grounded understanding of how VET operates in practice.
Feedback during the return journey to Bosnia and Herzegovina reflected a shared sense of enthusiasm and commitment. Participants identified multiple practices and innovations they plan to integrate into their respective institutions and policymaking processes.
This spirit of knowledge exchange and applied learning is the hallmark of a successful international study visit.
