The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska has published a public call for the allocation of incentives aimed at improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2026. The call is intended to support companies planning investments in business modernization, digital transformation, and the improvement of production processes, with the goal of increasing productivity and strengthening their position in both domestic and international markets.
The incentives are granted in accordance with existing regulations governing SME development and the allocation of de minimis state aid. The support system is based on a reimbursement principle, meaning that funds are disbursed after the planned investments have been verified as implemented in accordance with the conditions of the public call. This approach aims to encourage investments in technology, innovation, and the improvement of business processes in enterprises operating in the Republic of Srpska.
Eligible applicants include small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the Republic of Srpska that meet the criteria defined by legislation in the field of SME development. In addition to companies and entrepreneurs, certain segments of the program are also open to organizations supporting business sector development, such as development agencies, chambers of commerce, and business associations.
The call supports investments that contribute to the modernization of business operations and the strengthening of enterprise competitiveness. Particular emphasis is placed on activities related to digital transformation, the improvement of business processes, and the acquisition of modern equipment that enables more efficient production and resource management. Incentives are also intended for projects that contribute to improving energy efficiency and the application of modern technologies in business operations. In addition, the program includes activities that support the preservation and promotion of traditional crafts.
Within the framework of the public call, a portion of eligible investment costs will be financed, with the co-financing intensity depending on the level of development of the local government unit where the investment is implemented. This model is designed to further encourage investment in less developed areas and contribute to more balanced economic development.
The implementation of eligible investments is planned during 2026. Enterprises that receive incentives are required to complete their investments within the prescribed timeframe and in accordance with the established procedures. After the investment has been completed and the documentation verified, the Ministry will issue a decision on the payment of incentives to beneficiaries.
This public call represents one of the measures supporting the development of SMEs and aims to stimulate investment in innovation, digitalization, and business modernization. In this way, it contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of domestic companies and creating a more favorable business environment for further economic development.
