With the support of the European Union (EU) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina is launching the Responsible Business Hub (RBH BiH), which will be officially presented on Thursday, 10 July 2025, at the Chamber’s premises in Sarajevo.
RBH BiH will provide free advisory services and expert information to domestic companies, aiming to strengthen their preparedness for alignment with the new requirements of the European Union market, particularly in the areas of human rights and environmental protection. During the event, the key functions of the Hub will be introduced, including the scope of services offered, access to support, and the role of RBH BiH within the global network of Responsible Business Hubs.
The Hub brings numerous benefits to companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. First and foremost, it helps reduce business risks and operational costs by identifying savings through energy and resource audits, and by supporting the prevention of human rights, labor, and environmental violations within supply chains.
In addition, RBH BiH supports companies in preparing for upcoming EU regulations such as HREDD, CBAM, ESG, REACH, and others. This allows businesses to operate smoothly in the EU market – even before these requirements are transposed into domestic legislation – thereby improving market access and increasing regulatory stability.
Through support in sustainable resource management and the development of environmentally friendly innovations, the Hub also contributes to improving the competitiveness of local companies. Moreover, by adopting responsible business standards, companies strengthen their reputation and position themselves as reliable, innovative, and socially responsible partners in global supply chains.
RBH BiH is being established as part of the Private Sector Development Initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, co-funded by the EU and BMZ. It is also a component of the broader GIZ programme “Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion in BiH”, with additional funding provided by the Government of Switzerland.
