The green transition is not just a plan for the future—it is already part of everyday practice in companies across Bosnia and Herzegovina. An analysis of private sector needs clearly shows that greening secondary vocational education is a key step toward a sustainable economy and a more competitive labour market.
Through GIZ’s SEDEP programme, partner institutions are supported in developing green cross-sectoral competencies that are applicable across all industries and help students prepare for new jobs and the challenges of a modern economy.
Companies participating in the programme actively transfer knowledge on the green transition to students through practical training—from proper waste and hazardous materials management to sustainable resource and energy management. Practical examples include recycling production residues, using solar panels, reducing plastic use, and the safe disposal of waste oil.
Green cross-sectoral competencies are not just theory—they are a real need of the economy and a foundation for a sustainable future.
