Occupational Safety During Students’ Practical Training in Focus of Meeting with the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs

On September 25, 2025, a meeting was held on the topic of occupational safety for students attending practical training within secondary vocational education.

The meeting was attended by:

  • Ms. Ivana Prvulović, Director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP),
  • Mr. Željko Koštro, Chief Federal Labor Inspector,
  • Mr. Ilijas Sakić, Federal Labor Inspector for Occupational Safety,
  • GIZ representatives – Ms. Ena Kunić, Advisor in the SEDEP Program, and Mr. Roman Gorowoj, Head of the SVET Component,
  • and Ms. Diana Babić, Chair of the Inter-Cantonal Focus Group for the Improvement of Secondary Vocational Education.

The discussion focused on the obligations of business entities in ensuring occupational safety for students participating in practical training, as well as on existing legislative challenges in this field. Special attention was given to the need to develop clear guidelines for business entities and cantonal inspections, with the aim of establishing a harmonized approach to the organization and supervision of practical training in line with current regulations.

Representatives of FUZIP actively participate and contribute to the work of the Inter-Cantonal Focus Group for the Improvement of Secondary Vocational Education, further confirming the importance of institutional cooperation in this process.

At the meeting, the next steps were agreed upon and priorities defined for the continuation of cooperation among relevant stakeholders, with the goal of improving student safety during practical training and strengthening the quality of secondary vocational education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
