Open Call for Young People under the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund Programme

13. August 2026.

The City of Sarajevo has launched an Open Call under the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund programme, aimed at young people who want to contribute their ideas to addressing local climate challenges and creating a more sustainable Sarajevo.

The Open Call is intended for young people aged 15 to 24, who will have the opportunity to develop and implement projects aligned with local priorities in the areas of environmental protection, climate action and sustainable development.

Sarajevo is one of 300 cities worldwide participating in the expansion of the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund, an international initiative implemented by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The programme aims to empower young people to actively participate in the development of their local communities and turn their ideas into concrete actions.

Special Focus on Vocational Secondary Schools

In implementing the part of the Open Call targeting vocational secondary schools, the City of Sarajevo is supported by GIZ, Networks, the Ministry for Education of Sarajevo Canton and the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

GIZ provides support within the Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SEDEP), implemented with the support of the European Union, the Swiss Government and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Through this cooperation, young people are given the opportunity to develop innovative solutions, gain practical experience and actively contribute to the green transformation of their schools and local communities.

Project proposals can be submitted until 30 September 2026.

Young people aged 15 to 24 are invited to take advantage of this opportunity, develop their ideas and become part of a generation that contributes through knowledge, creativity and engagement to building a greener, more sustainable and resilient Sarajevo.
