The regional project “Get Ready 4 VET through Career Guidance,” implemented by OeAD, has been launched to strengthen the system of professional orientation and career guidance in primary schools and to promote vocational education and training (VET). The project is being implemented in the pilot regions of Republika Srpska and six cantons: Canton 10, West Herzegovina Canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, Sarajevo Canton, and Tuzla Canton.
The project aims to develop a sustainable and high-quality model of professional orientation and career guidance in primary schools, enabling students to make informed decisions and ensuring a smoother transition from primary education to VET schools.
Key activities include:
- Developing a sustainable career guidance and counselling model in primary schools.
- Establishing and piloting career guidance and counselling teams.
- Developing standardized processes, procedures, quality assurance indicators, and supporting materials.
- Strengthening cooperation with NGOs and key institutions relevant to career guidance, including chambers of commerce and employment services.
- Facilitating a smooth transition from primary to VET schools through joint activities and coordinated planning.
- Promoting VET through the training of VET ambassadors and peer-to-peer exchange.
The project contributes to establishing a sustainable and high-quality career guidance system through:
- Clearly defined roles of career guidance teams and an optimized legal framework.
- Standardized processes and procedures ensuring the quality of guidance services.
- A developed and system-embedded training program for guidance teams.
- Implemented quality assurance mechanisms supporting continuous improvement.
- Educational materials designed to strengthen social, entrepreneurial, and career management skills.
- A sustainable collaboration model between primary and VET schools, including activities led by VET ambassadors.
