The EU4PSD – EU Project for Private Sector Development, co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by GIZ and OECD, has launched a public call for grant applications. This initiative aims to support Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economy by promoting green and digital transformation in the private sector, with a focus on sustainable growth and employment.
The funding will cover two LOTs.
LOT 1: Workforce Development and Job Creation
This LOT aims to reduce the gap between labor market needs and available skills by financing training programs tailored to the needs of employers, with a particular focus on unemployed youth and women. Programs will include education in green and digital economy sectors, covering skills such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation, and energy efficiency.
Each approved project must include a partnership between educational or research institutions and business support organizations, and must directly support at least four micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with measurable outcomes in job creation and productivity increase.
LOT 2: Empowering Youth-Led Businesses
The second LOT is dedicated to strengthening the capacities of youth-led enterprises. Through targeted support programs, participants will have the opportunity to develop their businesses in line with principles of sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation. The focus will be on improving business models, financial management, legal compliance, and environmentally responsible practices, with the aim of enhancing competitiveness and resilience of youth-led businesses.

Info sessions will be held on May 7th and May 14th, where the application process will be explained in detail and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.
The EU4PSD project strives not only for short-term economic recovery but also for a systemic transformation of the private sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the integration of green and digital solutions. By connecting educational institutions, business support organizations, and MSMEs, the initiative contributes to reducing brain drain and building a resilient innovation-based economic ecosystem.
