Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Nasiha Pozder held a meeting today with Jens Elsner from GIZ and the Program Manager of the SEDEP project. The main topic of discussion was the successful implementation of the cooperation agreement previously signed by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and GIZ, which focuses on improving tourism through digitalization and sustainable practices in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This cooperation is being carried out within the framework of the EU initiative for private sector development in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EU4PSD), co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and forms part of the broader German Government program supporting sustainable economic development and employment promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SEDEP).
Thanks to the implementation of this agreement, the tourist registration system – prijava.ba – has been introduced in four additional cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing all ten cantons into a single unified tourist registration system. This represents an important step toward creating a centralized, sustainable, and transparent tourism framework. The project is aimed at improving the management of tourism information through the digitalization of the guest registration system, significantly increasing the availability and quality of data for all relevant institutions.
“GIZ is an important partner for us, not only in supporting the establishment of efficient digital solutions, but we also have excellent cooperation when it comes to consultants’ recommendations for improving our tourism sector, as well as solutions for introducing good practices and implementing green certification for tourism operators and accommodation facilities, which contributes to the sustainability and competitiveness of our tourism sector,” Minister Pozder emphasized.
It was highlighted during the meeting that cooperation between domestic institutions and credible international partners creates better conditions for more efficient planning, sustainable development, and the promotion of tourism, with the integration of circular economy principles. In this regard, cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and GIZ will continue in 2026.
