AI is not replacing our expertise — it is helping us use it more efficiently

How Obrazovalište is turning AI knowledge into a practical business solution

For Obrazovalište, a company combining education, language services, translation and professional support, joining the AI FORWARD programme was an opportunity to move beyond simply exploring new technologies and start thinking about how AI can address concrete challenges in everyday business.

The company already had strong professional expertise. The challenge was finding practical ways to connect this knowledge with new digital technologies and make everyday processes more efficient.

“AI FORWARD helped us take a crucial step from simply being interested in artificial intelligence to actually applying it in our daily business.” says Aleksandra Majkić from Obrazovalište.

From learning about AI to using it in everyday work

Before joining the programme, AI was seen as a technology with significant potential, but the team was still exploring how it could be meaningfully integrated into its work.

Daily operations involve a wide range of activities – preparing educational materials, adapting content to different levels of knowledge, research, translation, information processing, communication with students and clients, and various administrative tasks.

Through AI FORWARD training and practical work, the team developed a more systematic understanding of how AI can support these processes.

Today, AI tools are used to support content preparation, work with students, translation, research, structuring information and processing business materials.

The key change is not simply the introduction of new tools, but a different way of approaching everyday work: identifying where AI can provide practical support while keeping professional expertise and human quality control at the centre.

A concrete solution for a real business need

The next step was to translate this knowledge into a concrete solution.

As part of the AI FORWARD programme, an AI-supported solution was implemented for Obrazovalište, including an automated client-facing webpage designed to make the initial communication and cooperation process more structured and efficient.

The solution addresses a simple but important challenge: how to make the first interaction with a potential client easier for both sides.

Before

Previously, clients would typically send an enquiry by email, message or another communication channel. The Obrazovalište team would then respond individually, collect the necessary information, ask additional questions and explain the next steps.

This meant that the initial stage of cooperation involved several manual communication steps and required the team to spend time collecting and organising information.

After

The automated webpage provides clients with a clearer and more structured starting point for communication. Instead of relying entirely on individual exchanges, relevant information can be collected in a more organised way from the beginning.

For the team, this means that part of the initial communication process becomes more structured and less dependent on manual information collection.

For clients, the process becomes clearer and easier to navigate, particularly when communicating about different types of educational, language or professional services.

The change is therefore not simply technological – it is a change in the way a concrete business process is organised.

What has changed for the business?

The implemented solution is designed to contribute to:

  • more structured initial communication with clients;
  • easier collection and organisation of relevant information;
  • reduced reliance on repetitive manual communication;
  • more efficient processing of client enquiries;
  • a smoother experience for both domestic and international clients.

At the same time, the wider use of AI is supporting the team in preparing materials, conducting research, processing information and carrying out other everyday tasks, creating more space for professional work, creativity and direct interaction with students and clients.

Professional control remains essential. The team continues to be responsible for reviewing, verifying and approving outputs, particularly in areas such as translation where accuracy and quality are critical.

Measuring the impact

The company is currently in the early stage of practical use of the implemented solution. For this reason, there is not yet sufficient measured data to responsibly state specific percentages of time savings or increases in efficiency.

Rather than relying on estimates, Obrazovalište plans to monitor the practical use of the system and collect data that can later provide a clearer picture of its impact – including the number of enquiries processed, use of different functionalities, time required for selected processes and other relevant efficiency indicators.

This will allow the initial qualitative improvements to be complemented by evidence-based quantitative results as more experience with the solution is accumulated.

From AI training to sustainable digital transformation

The experience of Obrazovalište illustrates the practical approach of AI FORWARD: helping SMEs move from interest in artificial intelligence, through knowledge and skills development, towards the implementation of solutions addressing real business needs.

For the company, the programme was not an end in itself. It provided the knowledge, guidance and opportunity to identify where AI could create real value and then translate that knowledge into a practical solution.

As Aleksandra Majkić explains:

“We learned not to view AI as a substitute for expertise, but rather as a tool that enables experts to utilize their time, knowledge, and creativity more efficiently. This is particularly important to us because we aim to combine top-tier education, professional language services, and modern technology, while simultaneously using AI to create new opportunities for those who need quality education and support the most.”

For Obrazovalište, this is only the beginning. The company aims to continue integrating AI into its business development, particularly in education and language services, while preserving professional expertise, responsibility and quality control.

The longer-term ambition is to use technology not only to improve internal processes, but also to create new opportunities for providing quality education and support to children and young people who may not always have easy access to it.

AI FORWARD: From knowledge to practical application

The experience of the company Obrazovalište is part of the broader results of AI FORWARD, implemented by the Innovation Centre Banja Luka (ICBL) in partnership with Bloomteq / Ilirya Tech Group.

The programme supports SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in developing the knowledge and capacity needed to apply artificial intelligence in their businesses – moving from awareness and training towards concrete AI solutions and digital transformation.

The initiative is part of the EU Initiative for Private Sector Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, co-financed by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, within the broader Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SEDEP) programme, implemented by GIZ.

The program is jointly financed by:
