The data is stored and processed <strong>entirely anonymously<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data generated via the Matomo system is processed and stored on behalf of GIZ <strong>exclusively<\/strong> in <strong>Europe<\/strong> and <strong>New Zealand.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information about Matomo&#8217;s data protection policies can be found here:<br\/><strong>Matomo Cloud Privacy Policy &#8211; Matomo Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Additional Information on User Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matomo uses <strong>cookies<\/strong> to enable statistical analysis of the use of GIZ\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cookies used by Matomo do not contain any information that <strong>can identify users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each time you visit the GIZ website or download a file, the information about that activity is processed and stored in a temporary log file. <strong>Before being stored, every data set is anonymized by modifying the IP address.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GIZ uses this information for <strong>statistical purposes<\/strong> within its public relations work and to provide information tailored to users\u2019 needs, in accordance with its mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Legal basis:<\/strong> Article 6(1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 of the BDSG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Opt-Out Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users who <strong>do not agree<\/strong> with the fully anonymous storage and analysis of data regarding their website visits <strong>may opt out at any time<\/strong> by clicking the appropriate button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>opt-out button<\/strong> is located at the <strong>bottom of the page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Additional Notes on Opt-Out<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An \u201c<strong>opt-out cookie<\/strong>\u201d is then saved to the user\u2019s device to prevent data collection during visits to the relevant website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the opt-out to be effective, the cookie must be stored on <strong>each<\/strong> device used and in <strong>each<\/strong> browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If <strong>all cookies<\/strong> on the device are <strong>deleted<\/strong>, <strong>the opt-out cookie is also deleted<\/strong> and must be reactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Processing of Personal Data When Contacting Us<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When users contact us, the data provided is processed in order to <strong>respond to the inquiry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following means of contact are available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>contact form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.1 Contact Form<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>contact form<\/strong> is available on our website for electronic communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When using the contact form, the following data is processed: <strong>[e.g., title, last name, first name, email address], as well as any other personal data entered in the message<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Postal address and other information provided may also be processed. <strong>Providing a postal address is not mandatory<\/strong>, but it enables a reply by post if given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The processing of this data is based on <strong>consent<\/strong> under <strong>Article 6(1)(a) GDPR<\/strong> and is done for the <strong>purpose of responding<\/strong> to the user\u2019s request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By ticking the checkbox and submitting the form, <strong>the user consents<\/strong> to the transfer and storage of their personal data. The form can be <strong>cancelled at any time before submission<\/strong>. Data is only transmitted <strong>once the form is submitted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The transfer of data to GIZ is done via an <strong>SSL-encrypted connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2 Contact via Email<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alternatively, users can contact GIZ via the provided email addresses. Processing of Personal Data via Social Media Platforms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On its website, GIZ <strong>provides links<\/strong> to its official profiles on social networks such as <strong>LinkedIn, YouTube<\/strong>, and <strong>Facebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These online profiles serve <strong>to interact with users<\/strong> active on those platforms and to provide information about GIZ\u2019s work and services. Clicking on a social media logo redirects users to the respective GIZ profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When users visit those platforms, <strong>personal data is collected, used, and stored by the platform operators \u2013 not by GIZ<\/strong>. This applies even if the user <strong>does not have an account<\/strong> with the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The specific data processing activities and their scope vary by provider. These are used to generate statistical reports for GIZ via <strong>Facebook Insights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These reports are created solely by Facebook. GIZ has <strong>no control<\/strong> over how data is generated or displayed. However, Facebook assumes <strong>primary responsibility<\/strong> for Insight data. Facebook is also responsible for complying with all GDPR obligations related to that data (Articles 12, 13, 15\u201322, and 32\u201334).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>User rights<\/strong> can be exercised t<strong>hrough both GIZ and Facebook<\/strong>. IT Security of User Data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protection of personal data is of <strong>great importance<\/strong> to GIZ. <strong>Technical and organizational security measures<\/strong> are implemented to safeguard the data from accidental or intentional manipulation, accidental deletion, and unauthorized access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These measures are <strong>continuously updated<\/strong> in accordance with technological advancements and evolving risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9.
