The first Innovation Voucher Scheme – BOOST, launched in 2023 with financial support from the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, demonstrated how targeted investment in innovation can deliver tangible results for companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through this scheme, enterprises were awarded innovation vouchers worth up to EUR 5,000 to implement innovative ideas in cooperation with experts from the academic community and digital innovation hubs.
A total of 70 innovative solutions were implemented, and success stories from companies such as MEGASTIL from Banja Luka and BEMA BA from Gračanica show how cooperation between industry, academia, and innovation hubs contributes to the improvement of production processes, digitalization, and increased competitiveness in domestic and EU markets.
Building on these results, BOOST 2 has been launched, offering expanded support, including for micro-enterprises, with a strong focus on digital and green innovations. The project is implemented within the Private Sector Development Initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, co-financed by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, and implemented by GIZ.
